On November 9, God of War Ragnarök was released on PS4 and PS5 – perhaps the main contender for GOTY this year. It is interesting that Respeecher contributed to the creation of this gaming masterpiece, which was not afraid of this word – a Ukrainian startup, known throughout the world for its speech synthesis technologies using neural networks, is mentioned in the credits for the game.
In the credits of the game, as the screenshot below shows, along with the Sony studios, Respeecher is mentioned, and separately one of the startup’s specialists in synthetic speech, Valery Zablotsky-Drogan.
And while this is the first AAA video game to feature Respeecher in the credits, the startup has previously worked on a number of large-scale projects for Hollywood, in particular, the team created voices for Star Wars characters. More recently, their team has been working on rejuvenating Luke Skywalker’s voice in The Mandalorian and The Bob Fett Book, as well as creating the artificial voice of Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobe.
Respeecher CEO Alexander Serdyuk said on Facebook that the team has created a “fairly large” volume of voice acting in the game, and before the end of the year the company will have at least “a few big world-class releases.” More details about the project, which, according to him, “opens a new page for creators and voice actors,” he promises later.
What is extremely important for us is that every large-scale project of the God Of War level draws attention to Ukraine as a hub of talents and unique world-class technologies. Now it is especially valuable to see Ukrainians in the credits of legendary projects
Alexander Serdyuk,
CEO Respeecher
