Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk continues to show his affection for controversial figures on the platform. Just the other day, he unblocked Donald Trump’s account (according to the popular vote with a result of 51.8% “For” and 48.2% “Against”, although he previously promised that such decisions would be made by a special content moderation board). Now it’s the turn of the American musician Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.
Yeh’s account was blocked in early October due to an anti-Semitic post in which he promised to go into “lethal mode 3 against Jews” (probably the equivalent of the US military’s DEFCON high alert).
Shalom 🙂

At the end of October, Ye’s account was restored. Then Musk stated that it was not his decision. Ye now made a test post to test access to the social network and then wrote “Shalom :)”. Musk then welcomed the rapper back on Twitter, replying to his test tweet: “Don’t kill what Ye hates, Save what Ye loves.”

Twitter has seen an increase in users since Elon Musk bought the platform. It attracted attention with a series of scandals caused by dismissals and requests of employees to return again, an ultimatum to employees, ambiguous changes to the rules and the unblocking of previously blocked users. Although the number of users on Twitter is increasing, according to Bloomberg, the situation could further alienate advertisers, who have recently been wary of associating their brands with the scandalous service.
