Elon Musk announced the “slow” rollout of Twitter Blue – the previously thoughtless and rapid launch of the renewed subscription led to chaos in the social network and the appearance of hundreds of fake accounts with a “blue check”.
Musk said last week that Blue’s $8-a-month subscription will be available again on November 29. But on Monday, during a meeting with employees, Twitter’s new CEO said that subscriptions will not be launched until there is “absolute confidence that the issue of high numbers of impersonations has been resolved.”
Holding off relation to Blue Verified until there is high confidence of stopping impersonation.
Will probably use different color check for organizations than individuals.

After acquiring the company for $44 billion, the launch of Twitter Blue for everyone is the first major update planned by Twitter’s new owner. Despite internal warnings from T&S officials about the untrustworthiness of the subscription, Musk launched it anyway, leading to the emergence of a large number of fake accounts of celebrities and “blue tick” brands. Subscription canceled 2 days after launch.

It is not clear how Musk and the team plan to prevent accounts from impersonating others, because the current version of Twitter Blue does not check whether the person is real, but simply provides a “blue check” to the profile and a few additional premium features.
Twitter has attempted to launch another label, gray in color and labeled “Official,” primarily for government accounts, brands, media and celebrities. Currently, such “gray checks” appear and disappear in some accounts without explanation.
During a Twitter team meeting on Monday, Musk also said that “probably companies need to provide a check with a different color,” but did not specify whether it was a “gray mark.”
“Any social network does not matter if it suffers from an influx of bots and trolls and does not have any payment barrier for them,” Musk said.
The billionaire also emphasized that he is “done with layoffs” and plans to hire new employees again. Previously, Twitter cut 50% of full-time and 80% of freelance staff, several more employees were fired due to criticism of their management, and hundreds more left after Musk’s harsh ultimatum.
