Elon Musk launched an informational attack on Apple. He first criticized App Store rules amid claims that Apple had “threatened to remove” Twitter from its store. According to Musk, the company “won’t tell us why” it has problems with Twitter, but such threats exist.

In subsequent tweets, Musk spoke out against Apple’s 30 percent “tax” on in-app purchases and said the App Store owner had “censored” other developers. He also said that Apple has “pretty much stopped advertising on Twitter.” Although in the background of a series of scandals that haunt Twitter after the purchase of the platform by Musk, many large advertisers refuse to continue cooperation with the service.
It should be noted that this is not the first time that Apple and Twitter have had disagreements. In a recent article in The New York Times, Twitter’s former head of trust and security, Yoel Roth, said Apple App Store reviewers often flag content on Twitter as inappropriate during the app review process.
“During my time at Twitter, app store representatives regularly raised concerns about the content available on our platform,” Roth wrote, saying app reviewers had noted incidents of racial slurs and nudity on the service.
Musk did not specify what the differences were this time. He did not say whether Apple is limiting the release of the new version of the app or whether it intends to remove Twitter from the App Store entirely. Apple itself has not yet commented on this situation.
