The remake of the first “Witcher” will give players more freedom than in the original game – The Witcher Remake will have an open world. The original, released in 2007, was quite linear and chamber-like: the game world was divided into small locations, its passage developed sequentially and was divided into acts.
New information about the structure of the game appeared in a slide of CD Project Group’s third quarter investor presentation. The slide includes bright fire graphics with the remake’s logo and describes the new-old Witcher as a “story-driven, open-world single-player role-playing game.” The phrase doesn’t give much information about what that world might look like, but it sounds like a pretty big change.
The presentation also includes as many as three identical manticore images. The monster from the book series appeared in the classic trilogy of games only in the screensavers, but there was no way to fight him. Who knows, maybe the developers will surprise fans with one of the two upcoming remakes.
Among the slides is a graph of the employment of CDPR teams, which can be used to indirectly judge the status of projects.
According to CD Projekt, there are four more Witcher games in development, including a new trilogy. Also, on December 14, owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will receive a next-gen update with advanced graphics, gameplay improvements and new quests for free. Part of the content of the Next-Gen Update will be dedicated to the Netflix series.
