A professional Warzone 2.0 player was accused of cheating - he tried to prove the opposite right during the tournament and... by accident

A professional Warzone 2.0 player from Turkey with the nickname Exoniz was suspected of cheating ahead of the major Call Of Duty: Warzone World Classic tournament with a prize fund of around $100,000.

Suspicions about Exoniz cheating arose from several players, which they reported on social networks.

The Turkish player set out to prove his innocence and launched a stream on Twitch, where during the broadcast he decided to demonstrate his monitor and accidentally “lit up” the cheat menu.

Exoniz initially stated that multiple monitors had failed. But he later deleted the recording of the broadcast, as well as his Twitch and Twitter accounts. However, the clip has already been shared on social media, and Turkey appears to have been disqualified from the Warzone World Classic — all mention of the team has been removed from the tournament’s official website.

Fellow Exoniz, who goes by the nickname Forpantheonn, said he hadn’t played with him before the tournament because he had surgery.

“I didn’t have the opportunity to play with someone to create a duet for the tournament. Time was quite short, so people recommended me this guy from the group of Turkish players.”

At first, Forpantheonn tried to protect his partner, but changed his mind after looking at the screenshots:

“Some players accused me of that when I was at the peak of my career and I didn’t want him to go through that too. I saw the screenshots and was shocked, immediately blocked him. I’m sorry”.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 was released in early November 2022. In the first 5 days of its debut, it was played by more than 25 million users, but the success was overshadowed by errors. The system blocked players and offered to buy Modern Warfare 2 even if they already had that game. Also, due to the failure, some characters became invisible – as a result, other players could easily approach them and kill them.
