The Snipping Tool in Windows 11 will soon be updated to record video from the screen. Windows users won’t have to rely on the Xbox Game Bar, NVIDIA graphics card drivers, or other third-party tools.
The new option will soon be available to beta testers and will allow you to save the entire screen or a selected part of it – which is useful for recording individual program windows. The update comes four years after Microsoft introduced the screenshot feature for Windows.
“We know that the Snipping Tool is popular with our early adopters, so we’re very excited to introduce built-in screen recording in this update!” explains Dave Grohocki, Principal Product Manager of Windows Embedded Applications. — “The Snipping Tool makes it quick and easy to capture images and share content on a PC, and with built-in screen recording, we’re extending these capabilities to even more content.”
Microsoft has just started testing the feature with Windows 11 testers on the Dev Channel, so it will be a while before the Snipping Tool is released to all Windows 11 users.
