Packaging and assembly

Oscal C80 and S60 Pro night vision are delivered in bright compact boxes. Color: blue-pink gradient. The Oscal C80 box contains the smartphone itself, a transparent silicone case, a USB-A-C-USB cable, an 18 W power supply with fast charging support, and an instruction manual.

11

In the Oscal S60 Pro box, almost everything is the same, only there is no case – it doesn’t need one, because it has IP68, IP69K, MIL-STD-810H protection, as well as a MicroUSB to USB-A cable and a power supply of 5 Tuesday Both smartphones are equipped with a factory film for the screen, but more carefully remove the packaging film stuck on top of it.

Design and ease of use

Oscal C80 is a modern smartphone with flat ends, sharp corners and a main camera module. The concept resembles the latest iPhone models, which is clearly in the phone’s favor. In two words, it can be called “stylish minimalism”.

Oscal C80 received a plastic case and blue matte color. It shows almost no dust or signs of use, but the fingers are still visible. Therefore, it is better to carry it in a case. The case also aligns the back cover, and without it, the camera module protrudes a lot and can be scratched in the first place.

11

On the front, we see medium-thick bezels with a classic chin at the bottom and a teardrop notch on the screen for the front-facing camera.

On the left end there is a slot for two nano-SIMs or one card and one micorSD memory card up to and including 1 TB.

The volume keys and the screen lock button with a built-in fingerprint scanner are placed on the right. It works imperfectly, but still better than many other underscreen scanners in expensive competitor models.

There is nothing on the top face.

On the bottom we see a speaker, a USB Type-C port, a microphone and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

The back cover has the Oscal inscription, a glass platform with a dual main camera and a dual flash on the right.

The dimensions of the model are 164.2 76.8 8.55 mm, and the weight is only 188 grams. The smartphone is very light and relatively compact. It is comfortable to hold in the hand, and thanks to sharp edges and non-beveled and non-rounded corners, it is not slippery.

11

Oscal S60 Pro night vision – A classic representative of the protected segment of smartphones. It features a monolithic reinforced case made of durable TPU, reinforced polycarbonate with 10% glass fiber. The model has visible corners and various bulging relief elements. This is necessary for shock absorption during a fall, as well as for the device to lie as reliably as possible in the palm of the hand.

The display is covered with protected Panda glass. The bezels around it are quite wide, and the speaker and front camera are placed beyond it.

On the left end there is a slot for a pair of nano-SIMs or one SIM card and one memory card. This and the other two connectors on the case are protected by tight plugs.

A 3.5 mm audio jack was placed on the upper end.

There are two volume buttons and a screen lock key on the right side.

Below we can see the speaker and the MicroUSB port.

The embossed back cover features the Oscal logo, a place to attach a strap, a vent for air to escape while underwater, and a dual-flash primary camera module.

11

With dimensions of 161.7 x 78.5 x 14 mm and a weight of 255 grams, the Oscal S60 Pro, of course, looks more massive than the model above, and it is also heavier. But these are completely different classes of devices for different purposes. In view of this, the device is quite compact and not heavy at all, and most importantly, it lies in the palm of your hand like a native.

11

And even if it falls, nothing will happen to it, because the Oscal S60 Pro is protected against water, dust, dirt, sand, drops and shocks according to the IP68 and IP69K standards, as well as according to the MIL-STD-810H military standard.

The manufacturer claims that the smartphone is not afraid of water, so it can be immersed to a depth of up to one and a half meters for half an hour. It is also resistant to falls from a height of up to 1.5 meters. The device easily withstands high and low temperatures and is not afraid of water under high pressure. Therefore, it can be easily washed in the shower after fun adventures or a hard day at work.

As a matter of fact, the smartphone can withstand nothing like that. You can throw it from a greater height, dig the ground, throw it into the mud and swamp – and nothing will happen to it. This is a versatile device for the military, construction workers, people who work outside, for those who always drop and break things, or for those who just want to not worry about their phone, no matter what happens.

Most importantly, do not forget to tightly close the plugs on the case, thoroughly blow and clean the speakers, as well as other openings after tests or real-life adventures.

Oscal C80 and S60 Pro display

Oscar C80 received a 6.5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The sensor sampling frequency is 180 Hz. The resolution is 269 ppi.

For a budget smartphone with HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate is a rarity. And here it was implemented, so the impressions from use are the most pleasant.

The overall brightness of the display is adequate, and it is easily enough to use smartphones in direct sunlight without any problems.

In the settings, you can choose one of the display color and contrast presets. Of course, the IPS display has duller colors than the AMOLED. Therefore, the same settings make it possible to make a brighter screen with saturated colors.

Protected Oscal S60 Pro equipped with a 5.7-inch display, IPS matrix and HD+ resolution (1440×720 pixels). The refresh rate here is standard – 60 Hz. Don’t forget the aforementioned Panda screen protector.

Of course, with such characteristics, we have a completely ordinary and rather dull display with noticeable graininess to the eye. But for such money and with similar protection, as well as for this segment of devices, the Oscal S60 Pro is more than adequate.

The display has good brightness, tolerable color rendering and contrast. It can be used without problems on a sunny day, play games, watch YouTube videos or Netflix series.

Sound and vibration feedback

Oscal C80 and S60 Pro received one speaker each. The sound is loud, but without excesses. Of course, in this case there is no bass and surround sound, but the sound is adequate for the money.

The vibration response in both models is quite strong, but does not stand out in any way. There is clearly an ordinary vibration motor, which is found in any modern budget smartphone.

Cameras Oscal C80 and S60 Pro

Oscar C80 equipped with the main 50-megapixel module Samsung ISOCELL 4H7, as well as an auxiliary sensor of 0.3 MP. The smartphone can shoot in normal and Pro mode, there is also a night mode, macro, portrait, timelapse and Ultra High Resolution mode.

Taking into account the price tag, the photos are not bad. Of course, less-than-ideal clarity and slightly washed-out colors are noticeable, but the latter gets better with HDR enabled. It helps here more than spoils, so the pictures come out more natural.

The front camera of the model is 8 MP (Samsung ISOCELL 4H7). The sensor creates normal selfies for the budget segment, there is an adequate portrait mode and a beautifier. Clarity and bright colors are a little lacking, but again, for the money, the pictures are more than decent.

The smartphone shoots videos in 720p and 1080p at 30 frames per second. There is no image stabilization.

Oscar S60 Pro received a dual main camera with a main sensor of 13 MP, as well as an auxiliary infrared module Sony IMX219 of 8 MP. Two of the four on the back cover are designed for symmetry and practically act as plugs.

The main camera of the model takes ordinary photos. For comparison, the same photos were taken so that the difference could be seen as the shooting of each of the smartphones under the same conditions.

The trick of the S60 Pro camera is precisely in the second sensor. Thanks to it, the device can “see” in the dark – it takes full infrared photos and videos. Thanks to this mode, the Oscal S60 Pro can be used by the military for reconnaissance, photo hunters for shooting nocturnal animals.

An infrared camera is not just a publicity stunt. It really works in complete or partial darkness, takes quite clear photos and videos.

The front 8-megapixel module here is also Sony IMX219. The pictures are more or less decent, but lack clarity. But there is a beautifier and a portrait mode that allows you to improve the quality of selfies.

The Oscal S60 Pro records video in 720p and 1080p at 30 fps. There is no stabilization, but the underwater shooting mode is cool.

Productivity, software and games

Oscar C80 runs on the popular budget processor Unisoc T606. The chip is 64-bit, made on a 12-nanometer process, and has eight cores (6 x ARM Cortex-A55 1612 MHz and 2 x ARM Cortex-A75 1612 MHz).

The model has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of permanent memory. If desired, you can add 6 GB of virtual RAM. For the budget segment, this is a very cool feature. We also do not forget about the slot for microSD up to 1 TB inclusive. But if you use it, you will have to count on only one SIM card.

The throttling test of the Unisoc T606 chip showed that the processor works stably under load and does not overheat. The results of other tests are there.

Oscal C80 runs popular games including Wild Rift, Standoff 2, PUBG Mobile and more without any problems. Of course, the graphics settings will be average or minimal, but no one expects anything else from a budget model.

by heart Oscar S60 Pro became an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 chip (8 x ARM Cortex-A53 1500 MHz), created according to the 12-nm process. The smartphone has 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of built-in memory. The system allows you to add up to 3 GB of virtual RAM thanks to the PZP. You can insert a memory card up to 128 GB. But, as in the previous model, it will take the place of one of the two SIM cards.

The results of various tests, including the CPU stress test, can be found below.

The protected gadget easily copes with games like Standoff 2 and even runs them at high graphics settings. However, it will not be possible to play more demanding projects on it.

Oscal C80 and S60 Pro work with Doke OS 3.0 and 2.1. It is installed on top of Android 12 and Android 11 OS for Oscal C80 and S60 Pro, respectively.

The shell is as simple and fast as possible. Smartphones have visual changes only in a couple of branded applications. The Oscal C80 also comes with several pre-installed games. But the menu and system settings look as simple as possible and familiar to any Android user.

Both smartphones work quickly and without lags. All thanks to a significant amount of RAM supplemented by virtual memory, especially for the budget segment. The menu scrolls without slowing down, programs open quickly, nothing hangs or adjusts.

Among the installed proprietary programs, the “Freeze” program is convenient. This is a useful thing for saving unnecessary programs that will come in handy in the future or run from time to time.

It is enough to select the necessary programs for “freezing” – and the system will completely block them, they will not waste charge, work in the background and take up a minimum of space on the device. And when needed – one press of the button will relaunch the desired program or all “frozen” programs.

Oscal C80 supports satellite communication and works with all its popular variants (GPS + Glonass + Beidou + Galileo). The same goes for the S60 Pro.

I was very pleased to have an NFC module in a protected smartphone. With it you can use GPay, pay in shops, public transport, etc.

Autonomy Oscal C80 and S60 Pro

The Oscal C80 has a 5180 mAh battery. There is fast charging with a capacity of 18 W. The smartphone charges from 0% to 100% in about two hours. Thanks to the large battery and the HD+ screen resolution, the smartphone works without problems for one and a half to two days with a couple or three hours of video viewing and a few hours of simple mobile games.

The Oscal S60 Pro is also equipped with a large 5580 mAh battery. There is no fast charging due to the MicroUSB connector used here, so we have a basic 5W. The battery charges in 2.5-3 hours. It is not easy to discharge it – with standard use with games and videos on YouTube, the smartphone drains in two days.

Conclusions

Oscal C80 and S60 Pro night vision are budget smartphones for a wide range of users and many purposes. The models combine an affordable and pleasant price tag, a rich set of supplies, modern IPS screens. The models have a large amount of RAM, good quality of the case, a simple and smart branded shell.

The Oscal C80 is characterized by a modern ascetic design, a good camera and light weight, and the S60 Pro night vision impresses with its security and ability to withstand all life’s difficulties. Both models also received large batteries and work without problems for up to two days. Oscal S60 Pro pleases with the presence of an NFC module and an infrared camera useful for the military, which shoots perfectly in the dark. There is also an underwater shooting mode.
