The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenko, in addition to the “achievement of the Belarusian unmanned defense industry”, which actually consists of Chinese components from AliExpress, recently also happily announced “the first Belarusian laptop”. As in the case of the UAV, only the name and possibly an electric wire with a plug were found in Belarusian in the laptop. But this is not accurate. However, the availability of components from the USA and other countries in the laptop did not prevent the Belarusian regime from proudly reporting on the “development” and now the start of sales of the “first Belarusian laptop”.
The device is sold under the Horizont trademark and has the model name H-book MAK4. This product is allegedly manufactured at the Computer Equipment Plant, which is part of the structure of the company “Horizon”. The means of mass propaganda of Belarusians say that the old workshops were modernized for the production of modern computer equipment – laptops and monitors.
The laptop is offered in several configurations. All of them do not use originally Belarusian processors made of glue and sticks (or at the extreme end the “Elbrus” chip of the allied terrorist state), but Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 manufactured by the hated Lukashenko of the West. Devices can be available from 8 to 32 GB of RAM, as well as a solid-state drive with a capacity of 256 GB to 2 TB. The country of manufacture of these components is not specified. Most likely, the factories that produced them are also located far from the borders of Belarus. Buyers are offered versions with 14- and 15.6-inch displays, as well as integrated graphics. Autonomy is promised from 4 to 8 hours.
The “first Belarusian laptop” Horizont H-book MAK4 runs the American operating system Windows 11. But the factory that “produces” laptops is trying to create its own operating system. Therefore, the new Windows 11 OS with a different screen saver and non-boring wallpapers is expected to appear soon. Previously, designers who were engaged in pasting Chinese labels designing a laptop, said that it uses printed circuit boards of local manufacture. Announcing the “first Belarusian laptop” in September, Lukashenko said that 12% of Belarusian components are used in the devices. But in the future, when he finally finds those 4 directions, the rate of Belarusian components may increase to 30-35%. This time they modestly kept quiet about it. It seems that the production of wire, forks and screws did not go well after all.
Announcing the Horizont H-book MAK4, Lukashenko promised a price starting at 1,300 Belarusian rubles (about $482). But during the pasting of the labels, the price increased to 1,599 Belarusian rubles (about $633). That’s how much the starting configuration of the 15.6-inch version costs.
