Android Authority has revealed Google’s plans for the Pixel phone line for 2023-2025. However, even if the publication’s anonymous sources are 100% right, of course, the company’s plans may change. With all that said, some early predictions do come true in this timeline, such as plans for a $1,799 foldable smartphone.
Google Pixel series in 2023
The Pixel lineup is expected to undergo minor changes next year. In April/May, during Google I/O, two phones will be presented under the code names lynx (belongs to Pixel 7a) and felix (Pixel Fold). The cost of the Pixel 7a will remain unchanged at $449 in the US. Previous leaks indicated that the series will get wireless charging and a 90Hz screen refresh rate, but Android Authority’s sources have not confirmed this information.
It will be the main novelty of Google in 2023 the first folding Pixel for $1799which would make it a competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series.
Later in 2023, Google will release two new phones in its flagship series: Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The notable change will be the smaller size of the Pixel 8, but the Pixel 8 Pro will have the same display and overall dimensions as the Pixel 7 Pro.

Google Pixel series in 2024
According to sources, Google may abandon the annual releases of the A-series phones and release them every 2 years. This puts the series on par with Apple’s iPhone SE.
If Pixel 8a will be released, its price will increase to $499. However, the fate of this phone depends entirely on the performance of the Pixel 7a in the market.
In the fall of 2024, Google will release the Pixel 9 series, which for the first time includes three devices. The first will be the vanilla Google Pixel 9, which will likely have the same size and overall form factor as the Pixel 8. The expected Pixel 9 Pro will have a 6.7-inch screen. But, a more compact professional model with a 6.3-inch screen may appear.
Sources say Google wants to emulate Apple’s successful size strategy, which means it needs a pro-grade phone that isn’t as big as the Pixel 7 Pro. The Pixel 9 will be similar to the iPhone 14, while the 6.3-inch Pro model will be similar to the iPhone 14 Pro.
On all three phones Tensor G4 should be introducedwhich appears in the report under the code name “redondo”.
Google Pixel series in 2025
Google is considering several options for its Pixel roadmap through 2025, which will be heavily influenced by the success or failure of its plans for 2023 and 2024.
For one thing, Google is toying with the idea of making a flagship phone to compete with the Galaxy Z Flip series. If the company goes this route, the launch of the main Pixel series in the fall of 2025 will include a folding “folder”, the basic Pixel 10 flagship with two Pro iterations – smaller and larger sizes.
