NBU, together with systemically important banks of Ukraine, developed a solution that will allow the banking system to work stably and continuously even in the event of continued terrorist attacks by the Russian occupiers on the energy infrastructure and a possible blackout.

It is emphasized that at the initiative of the National Bank of Ukraine, all systemically important banks have united to create the POWER BANKING banking network. This is a general network of bank branches throughout Ukraine, which will work and provide banking services to clients even in a critical situation during a blackout. All branches of the POWER BANKING network have alternative energy sources and backup communication channels. They also have enhanced cash collection and additional staff.

Currently, the POWER BANKING network unites all 14 systemically important banks. Their branches became the basis of the network. Also, other participants of the banking market are actively involved in the network. Currently, more than 1,000 bank branches in all regions of the country are additionally equipped to work during a blackout (about 80% of them are branches of systemically important banks). You will be able to find out which branches of the general banking network are marked by the special POWER BANKING sign at the entrance. This sign indicates that the department is specially equipped and will work in the event of a long-term absence of electricity.

During the blackout, the following list of banking services will be available in POWER BANKING branches:

• receiving cash (at ATMs or cash registers);
• payments, money transfer (at the cash desk or self-service terminals);
• currency exchange (if cash currency is available at the cash desk);
• consulting managers on financial issues.

In addition, it is emphasized that ATM national roaming has been introduced in branches of the POWER BANKING network. Thanks to this, Ukrainians will be able to withdraw an increased amount of cash from an ATM of any network bank, sufficient to meet current needs and build a certain reserve.

Users can download a file with a list of POWER BANKING network branches to their mobile devices. This will allow you to find the nearest branch in the absence of Internet access. Since the network is constantly expanding, it is better to update the file periodically.
