According to knowledgeable sources, Foxconn has already started test production of the next version of the iPhone. According to Economic Daily News, the iPhone 15 has entered the so-called new product introduction (NPI) phase. At this point, Foxconn uses its production line to assemble the iPhone exactly as it would during mass production.
This move will allow Apple and Foxconn to make sure everything is working properly. Also, the early production phase will allow them to identify and implement improvements that can increase production efficiency and productivity or reduce production costs. Some pre-production models are likely already assembled, but more likely they were hand-assembled in small numbers.
In addition, it is emphasized that the production process of the iPhone 15 will be slightly different this year: mass production will begin in China and India with a difference of just a few weeks. In previous years, production was launched at intervals of several months.
Apple’s iPhone 15 family is expected to debut in mid-September.

At the same time, Apple is already actively working on the next generation of smartphones and considering the possibility of introducing new features into them. And according to informed sources, the Face ID system located under the display will appear in the iPhone 16 Pro. Thus, the TrueDepth camera of the Face ID system will not be visible all the time when it is not in use.
However, the iPhone 16 Pro display will have a small notch for the front camera. At the same time, the total area of the display and the feeling of immersion will be improved. The current cutout in the display will remain in the iPhone 15 Pro, which will be released at the end of this year, because the technology for placing Face ID under the display is not yet ready. And the Dynamic Island feature will appear in all four iPhone 15 models.
The post also says that once Apple implements Face ID technology under the display, it will move to implementing an underpanel camera (UPC), thus eliminating all the display cutouts currently present on the iPhone.
