In the second part of the article, we present the most anticipated tapes of the second half of the year. There are fewer ubiquitous film comics here, but more works from outstanding directors. We also remind you that release dates may change. However, unless some new apocalypse comes, all the featured films should be released within this year.

The action unfolds in 1955 in the USA. Students and their parents gather from all over the country in a fictional city located in the middle of the desert for a stargazing convention. New acquaintances, various contests, entertainment, etc. await them there.
If you consider only the title, it may seem that “City of Asteroids” is some kind of science fiction, but this is a false feeling. Probably, only two words are enough to describe the film – Wes Anderson. And here is a truly stellar ensemble of actors.

Meanwhile, ex-Nazi German officer and now NASA member Jürgen Foller, who is involved in the Apollo space program, uses his position for his own gain. The fifth part of the adventures of Indiana Jones will be released in the summer. It’s nice to know that 80-year-old Harrison Ford is still in the big leagues.
“Mission Impossible: Deadly Retribution. Part one” / Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

The most famous franchise with Tom Cruise followed the same path as the most famous franchise with Vin Diesel. This is supposed to be the finale of the Ethan Hunt story split into two movies. The seventh and eighth parts are planned for release in July 2023 and June 2024, respectively. Due to the covid pandemic, the premiere of the film was postponed four times.
A real feast for the eyes promises to be the most dangerous stunt in Cruise’s gallows career – a jump on a motorcycle from a cliff and the subsequent flight with the opening of a parachute. We could see something similar in the action movie “Three Xs” with the same Diesel, although there was a sports car, a jump from a bridge and a stuntman instead of an actor. However, there is hardly anything better than the Kremlin explosion scene in “Phantom Protocol”.
“Barbie” / Barbie

A little rosy casualness won’t hurt our list of the most anticipated movies. The Barbie doll was kicked out of the doll world because she was not perfect enough. The heroine enters the world of people, and there she must find her true happiness.
Why Ryan Gosling agreed to the role of Ken is still a mystery, but we hope that it will at least be fun. In addition, Margot Robbie promised that the film intends to deceive the expectations of the audience. We assume that the release date will change, because no one in their right mind will want to compete with the next film.

Christopher Nolan’s biopic gathered a powerful cast. The film will tell about the “father of the atomic bomb” Robert Oppenheimer. This American physicist led the development of deadly weapons of mass destruction during World War II.
“Marvely” / The Marvels

Little is known about the plot now. The action will take place after the events of the series “Miss Marvel”. Carol Danvers, Kamala Khan, and Monica Rambo find that each time they use their superpowers, they switch places with each other. The heroines must join forces to find out the reason for this process.
“Marvel” was directed by a black woman and will be about women. Brie Larson and Iman Vellani will return to their roles. In addition to them, we will be able to see Nick Fury performed by the regular Samuel L. Jackson.

Despite the low quality of the previous pictures of this universe, its creators do not give up hope of becoming a solid player in the comic book niche.
“Kraven the Hunter” according to the Marvel comics is a supervillain, and also of Russian origin, one of the greatest enemies of Spider-Man. But as is Sony’s habit, they will probably turn him into an anti-hero. By the way, we are also looking forward to the animated film “Spider-Man: The Web of Universes”, which should be released in June.
“Dune 2” / Dune: Part Two

The plot of the second part of Denis Villeneuve’s large-scale fantasy blockbuster is based on the second half of Frank Herbert’s novel of the same name. Paul Atreides will team up with Chani and the Fremen, and will face a difficult choice between the love of his life and the future fate of the local universe.
Denis Villeneuve became the director who was able to adequately adapt the complex source material. The general recognition of the first film by viewers and critics allows us to hope that this one will be at least not worse.

Adaptation of the novel of the same name by Susan Collins and a prequel to the successful films starring Jennifer Lawrence. The peak of fashion for teenage dystopia has already passed, but the creators of the film will obviously assure us otherwise.

At the end of the year, the sequel to “Aquaman” should finally reach the screens, five years after the release of the first part. Jason Momoa will return to the title role, while Amber Heard, after the scandalous legal process with Johnny Depp, seems to get little screen time.
Some Western media have long reported that all scenes with the actress were allegedly deleted, but there is no official confirmation of this yet. Just as the blockbuster does not even have an official synopsis yet, so it is not known what specific events it will be about. Interestingly, the film was originally scheduled to be released on December 16, 2022, but competing with the second Avatar is a feat in itself.

Could anything be better than Martin Scorsese’s new movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro and a $200 million budget? Screen adaptation of the documentary book “Killers of the Flower Moon: Nafta. Money. Blood” by David Gran.
“Napoleon” / Napoleon

This epic film tells the story of Napoleon Bonaparte’s rise to power and his rise to power as a French general and Emperor. The action will take place through the lens of Napoleon’s unstable relationship with Josephine de Beauharnais.
Ridley Scott knows how to shoot historical epics. His Oscar-winning “Gladiator” and the relatively recent “The Last Duel” will not let you lie. And if you pay attention to who played the main role, then the expectations of the film will increase even more. Joaquin Phoenix has already worked with Ridley Scott on the set of “Gladiator”, where he perfectly embodied Commodus on the screen. And in “Joker” by Todd Phillips, the actor accomplished a small feat.
