Apple may introduce the first products of 2023 very soon. A number of observers, including Mark Gurman, say that Apple’s announcement could happen today. Most sources are tight-lipped on the details, but Gurman hints that it could be the 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro models with M2 processors.
The New MacBook Pro is incredible (Apple does have an announcement tomorrow – with press briefings later this week and embargoes lifting next Monday). The New Macs arriving early this year were first reported here in October

Speaking about them in the fall, the columnist noted that these systems will share the same design as the M1 variants launched in late 2021. The new MacBook Pros will be based on the new M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, which will have up to 12 computing cores and 38 GPU cores in the Max variant. No touchscreen or any other radical changes are expected – just a performance boost.
According to other sources, the MacBook Pro 2023 could be the first Mac computers with Wi-Fi 6E. Twitter user Wade Penner discovered an unreleased MacBook Pro with support for the 6GHz band of the new Wi-Fi standard in a Canadian wireless network database. When using the appropriate router standard, the laptop will provide higher connection speed, lower delays and better performance in a congested network. The Apple iPad Pro tablet with the M2 processor is compatible with Wi-Fi 6E.

Nothing is known about the announcement of other products at the same time – perhaps the Mac mini with M2 and other devices will have to wait. For those looking to buy a MacBook Pro now, it makes sense to delay the purchase for a while in order to get a more productive model. According to 9to5mac, the announcement is possible on January 18 or 19, and the embargo on testing and reviews will be lifted on January 23.
