According to the results of 2022, the IT industry provided foreign exchange earnings to the Ukrainian economy in the amount of $7.34 billion, which is $400 million more than the result of the pre-war year 2021, reports the Association of IT Ukraine with reference to the data of the National Bank. In fact, the result fully meets previous expectations.
As of January 1, 2023, the IT business transferred to the budget of Ukraine taxes and fees in the total amount of UAH 32.2 billion. – For 4.4 billion hryvnias. and by 16% more than last year’s indicator. At the same time, the authors of the study note an increase in the number of taxpayers under IT-KVEDs, namely FOPs.

As it has already been mentioned several times before, of course, the growth of the IT sector is a positive trend and a big plus. We hope that the IT industry will continue to grow in 2023, but there is an opinion that mass layoffs that began at the end of 2022 and continue in global IT companies (Google, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and others) will be increasingly felt in Ukraine. the real risk of slowing growth and changing the upward trend to a downward one.

Reservation of workers from mobilization
The other day, the Cabinet of Ministers, by a separate resolution, approved the mechanism for booking employees of telecommunications and IT companies that have the status of critical. To book employees, the company must confirm this status and meet at least 3 criteria from the list:
- is a resident of Diya.
- the average salary at the enterprise is not less than the average salaries in the region for the IV quarter of 2021;
- does not have debts with the EUV;
- paid more than 1.5 million euros in taxes to the state and local budget during the year, in addition to customs payments;
- received more than 32 million euros in income over the last year (excluding credits and loans);
- important for the national economy or the needs of the territorial community.
An important condition is that one company can reserve no more than 50% of conscripted workers from their number on the date of submission of the list. At the same time, heads of enterprises and their deputies are subject to reservation regardless of age, military rank, and military accounting specialty.
