lifecell together with YASNO launches SMS notifications about power outages (so far only in Kyiv)

lifecell announced the availability of a new service SMS reminders about possible stabilization or emergency power outages. Its launch was made possible thanks to the further expansion of the cooperation of the mobile operator with the energy supply company YASNO.

Interested lifecell subscribers can already activate the service without any extra charges, but note that the service works only in Kyiv. To do this, you need to send a short USSD request *277#, select the “Activate” option and enter the number of the energy consumption group. After activation, SMS messages about stabilizing and emergency power outages will be sent from number 277.

If necessary, in the voice menu *277#, you can also find out the number of the group at the address and order information only about emergency power outages. In this case, SMS about stabilization shutdowns will not be received.

You should also pay attention to the lifecell disclaimer:

The data source for sending SMS messages is Yasno’s outage schedules. lifecell is not responsible for the compliance of the actual blackout with data from the blackout schedules.

If the lifecell network is not available, subscribers will not be able to receive power outage messages, even though they were actually sent from the lifecell SMS center.

If we take into account the complex situation in the energy system of Ukraine, as well as the frequent problems of observing the published shutdown schedules and informing about emergency shutdowns in the same Kyiv, a natural question arises about the expediency of the lifecell service. One can only hope that it will prove useful in the end.

Lifecell also reminds subscribers of the need to pay electricity bills on time and advertises another service of theirs – the Paycell payment application, which allows you to pay for various services from your mobile account without entering bank card details, including utility bills, and receive various bonuses for this, for example 5 GB of mobile traffic after the first payment of any services in the amount of more than UAH 100.
