The sequel to Metro Exodus is already fully hackable and will probably be released in 2024 - Insider Gaming

As reported by the Insider Gaming resource, citing its own sources, the sequel to Metro Exodus from the Ukrainian studio 4A Games is in the development stage and is already completely raffleable.

Last year, 4A Games very transparently hinted at the release of a new game in the Metro series. And now it became known that it can be played. So, the game could be announced later this year and its release could happen in 2024 if the Metro Exodus announcement and release schedule is also applied to the new game.

In 2020, 4A Games announced on its website that it had already begun work “on the next Metro game”. It is created for 9th generation consoles and PC. The game features a major overhaul of the engine and renderer “to take advantage of the new power, storage, and raytracing hardware support provided by the new consoles.”

Details about the new game have not been released yet. All that is known is that the game begins with a dream sequence of the player, and then he wakes up in his operational base. Gameplay will follow the classic Metro formula of stealth, item crafting, resource mining, and combat. In 2020, the developers also said that they intend to deliver “an excellent story-driven single-player game” while listening to the wishes of the fans.

Metro Exodus received generally positive reviews. According to the Embracer Group, as of December 31, 2022, 6 million copies of the game had been sold. By the way, Embracer Group has promised to release 19 AAA games by March 31, 2026. It is likely that the next Metro installment will be one of them.
