High-speed mobile Internet (3G/4G) lifecell has been activated in the Dnipro metro at all six stations and the crossings between them — it remains the only operator from the “big three” that provides mobile communication services in the Dnipro subway.
“Despite the fact that the enemy continues to attack and terrorize Ukraine for almost a year, lifecell continues to improve the network and the quality of coverage for Ukrainians. Now 3G/4G communication works at all six metro stations in Dnipro, as well as in the tunnels between the stations.
High-speed mobile Internet from lifecell will allow passengers of the Dnipro metro to stay in touch while traveling around the city or using the metro as a shelter during air raids.”
from the official statement of lifecell
According to lifecell, the average speed of 4G mobile Internet in the subway is 32.3 Mbps. And more than 12,000 people use the Dnipro metro every day.
Lifecell provides current statistics of mobile traffic in the company’s Dnipro network – the average volume per data subscriber is 16.8 GB per month, which is slightly higher than the average figure for Ukraine – 15 GB. At the same time, the share of active mobile Internet users among lifecell subscribers in Dnipro is 85%.
During the full-scale invasion, the active subscriber base of lifecell in the city remained almost unchanged, despite the fact that some subscribers were forced to go abroad to escape the war.
