Intel is gradually discontinuing the release of 11th generation Core processors (Tiger Lake-H and B) for laptops and compact systems, as well as the Xeon W-11855M

Intel Corporation has announced the discontinuation of a series of 11th generation mobile processors (Tiger Lake). Among them are Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, Core i9 and Xeon W chips. At the same time, Intel does not abandon the Tiger Lake-H line completely. While mainly Tiger Lake-H chips (45 W) were affected, the demand shifted towards newer offers of Intel processors.

Discontinued CPU ranges range from the Core i5-11260H to the Core i9-11950H. Intel also listed the Xeon W-11855M. The Xeon W-11955M processor with eight cores is still dangerous. There is likely still demand for Tiger Lake chips with IPUs (Image Processing Units). Intel has not discontinued models such as Core i7-11390H or Core i5-11320H. Intel partners can place final orders for the processors listed below until June 30, 2023.

Tiger Lake’s 11th generation B-series processors with a TDP of 65W have also reached end-of-life (EOL). The Core i9-11900KB, Core i7-11700B, Core i5-11500B and Core i3-11100B models proved suitable for system vendors in the compact form factor (SFF). As with the Tiger Lake-H chips, customers have until June 30, 2023 to place final orders.

In general, the termination of the release of processors will have little effect on the market. It already features enough of the faster Alder Lake and Raptor Lake mobiles.
