According to insider Tom Henderson, there is a new Sony PlayStation Handheld game console in the works. The device is codenamed Q Lite and requires a PlayStation 5.
The Q Lite doesn’t appear to be a cloud streaming device, but instead uses the Remote Play with the PlayStation 5 feature that Sony has been promoting heavily in recent weeks. The new device supports adaptive streaming up to 1080p at 60 frames per second and requires a constant internet connection.
Early prototypes of the Q Lite resemble a PlayStation 5 controller, but with a massive 8-inch touchscreen display in the center. The device is equipped with adaptive triggers for haptic feedback, and also has other attributes of a portable device, including volumes, speakers, audio jack, etc.

The portable console is currently undergoing testing. Its entry into the market should take place after the appearance of the upgraded console PlayStation 5 Pro and removable storage for PS5.
Earlier, industry insider Jeff Grubb claimed that Sony plans to announce a “phase two PS5”. It refers to the release of removable storage for PlayStation 5, Project Nomad (wireless headphones), Project Voyager (wireless headset) and Q Lite (portable console) in a very short period. The release of the PlayStation 5 Pro is targeted for the New Year holidays of 2024.
