Sony presented a new trailer for the next animated film Spider-Man: Across the Universe, the sequel to the 2018 film. It features dozens of Spider-Men when Miles Morales (voiced by Shamik Moore) enters the Spider-Verse, a multiverse that connects each of them together.
Gwen Stacy introduces Miles to the Spider-Man as they join forces to stop threats that could disrupt the order of things in each of the universes. Their powers are put to the test by the antagonist Spot, who will create portals in space and between universes.
Spot isn’t the only adversary in Across the Spider-Verse. A new trailer shows how Miles Morales will play with the Spider Force in his second adventure. This team of Spider-Men operate multi-seleniums, but their methods aren’t always heroic. Against them, Miles will stand up for the principles he believes in, provoking a war between the two factions.
The trailer features Miguel O’Hara, also known as Spider-Man 2099 (voiced by Oscar Isaac). This Spider-Man from the future has suffered heavy losses that have turned him into a pragmatic and brutal villain. He believes that the end justifies the means, which makes him a formidable opponent.
The trailer features a variety of Spider-Men from movies, comics, video games, and animated series. It seems that the writers of the new film want to honor every incarnation of Spider-Man. The plot of the sequel presents the perfect opportunity to combine all these characters in a single action.
The film was directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Justin K. Thompson and Camp Powers. The new “Spider-Man: Across the Universe” will debut in Ukrainian cinemas on June 1, 2023. The film will be the first of a two-part sequel, with a sequel expected on March 29, 2024.
