Sony has released a massive update for God of War Ragnarok that brings a new New Game+ mode. It’s more than a rework with stronger enemies. The new mode offers additional features and a truly new game.
New Game+ opens after completing the main game. In fact, the player is offered a new adventure in which he does not have to start from scratch. All accumulated gear, weapons, and skills carry over from a previous save.
The changes include several new armor sets that bring unique gameplay mechanics to the game. Armor of Zeus increases magic and spell damage, but exposes the character to a greater risk of external damage. Spartan armor removes all skill and stat upgrades, increasing difficulty and leaving no room for error. Black Bear Armor and Ares Armor, on the other hand, give players unique bonuses such as increased defense and increased rare item drops. There are also tons of new customization options for existing armor types.
The maximum level of both enemies and the player has been increased. Any level nine gear can be upgraded to a Plus version with lots of development options. Transforming gear also gives special coins that are used to buy new charms.
Added new enchantments that allow you to apply perks and stats normally reserved for a specific set of armor to an amulet. This allows you to get the corresponding benefits without having to wear armor. Such a system will allow you to experiment and find the best combination for a unique style of play. Certain enemies will now drop new stat-boosting enchantments.
In addition, the final bosses were reworked, the sparring arena received new enemies. A new black-and-white mode has also been added for a more cinematic transmission.
The God of War Ragnarök update with New Game+ mode is now available for download. It is distributed free of charge.
