The Ukrainian office of Acer announced the expansion of the offer of laptops with AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors – these appeared in the Nitro 5 and Aspire 3 lines. The target audience of the first, as you know, is gamers, while the Aspire 3 is an ultra-compact model, optimal for work with lightweight” media files and office applications (yes, “typewriter”).

As already mentioned, the main difference between the new products is the new AMD Ryzen 7000 platform. The basic configurations of Aspire 3 use energy-efficient dual-core Athlon Gold 7220U (Zen 2) with operating frequencies of 2.4-3.7 GHz and a TDP of 15 W. The graphics here are integrated AMD Radeon 610M. The Nitro 5 line is a little more interesting in terms of performance, as it offers more powerful CPUs – up to the Ryzen 7 7735HS with 8 Zen 3+ cores (16 threads) and a maximum Boost frequency of 4.75 GHz at a TDP of 54 W. In addition, the Nitro 5 models are equipped with a discrete GeForce RTX 3050 or 3050 Ti adapter for the built-in GPU.
In both cases, the diagonal is 15.6 inches – IPS panel with Full HD resolution. At the same time, the Nitro 5 gaming screen supports a frame rate of 144 Hz, which will not interfere with games with high dynamics.
The amount of RAM reaches 16 GB – the Nitro 5 uses DDR5-4800 memory, while the Aspire 3 is equipped with energy-efficient LPDDR5, which has replaced DDR4 modules. The data storage subsystem is represented by a 512-GB NVMe drive with a PCI Express 4.0 interface (Nitro 5) or a 1-TB SSD in the Aspire 3. Other equipment includes a Wi-Fi 6/Bluetooth 5.1 wireless module and a USB Type-C port ( USB 3.2 Gen 2).
As for design changes, the new version of the Aspire 3 features thinner bezels around the screen (the screen-to-body ratio reaches 79.86%) and colors (silver, pink, and gold to choose from). At the same time, Nitro 5 has become more fit and stands out from its predecessors with an improved cooling system with two intake holes and four air exhaust holes. SO Aspire 3 has also undergone changes: the manufacturer notes a 78% increase in fan surface area and a 17% increase in heat removal efficiency compared to previous models.
The prices of Acer Nitro 5 and Aspire 3 on Ryzen 7000 series processors range from UAH 15,999 to UAH 50,999, depending on the configuration:
