Brie Larson’s 2019 feature film debut in Captain Marvel was a hit, grossing $1 billion at the global box office. Given the success of the box office and positive reviews, the continuation of the story of Carol Danvers was quite expected.
This time around, Larson will be joined by Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and judging by the trailer, the trio is sure to entertain audiences. The superheroes find themselves in awkward situations when trying to use their powers, as they trade them each time – so it’s interesting to see how they will be able to stand up to the villains under such conditions.
There wasn’t much information about the Marvel movie before the trailer was released, as Marvel Studios is known to keep their projects quiet. However, composer Laura Karpman, who worked on the film, said it would be great:
“What can I tell you, it’s going to be great. And Kamala is coming back, and she’s incredible. I like to write music for her performances, and for the rest too.”
“Marvels” is the third film of the fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is released immediately after “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania” and “Guardians of the Galaxy”. It is interesting how the relationship between the projects will be reflected in the future.
Saagar Sheikh, Zenobia Shroff and Mohan Kapoor will reprise the role of Kamala’s brother, mother and father respectively. New characters include Zawi Ashton and Park So Joon; their roles have not been revealed, although Ashton appears to play the villain.
The film is directed by Nia DaCosta and written by Megan McDonnell. “Marvels” will appear in the Ukrainian box office on November 9.
