HBO released a series of new announcements, teasers and trailers along with the launch of its new Max streaming service, the result of the merger of Warner Bros. Discovery and HBO. Among the products that will be offered on the new service are many sequels and spin-offs of popular shows such as Game of Thrones, Rick and Morty and The Big Bang Theory.
The series “Penguin” with Colin Farrell
Colin Farrell’s Oswald Cobblepot returns to join the ranks of villains. “Penguin” also stars Christine Milioti, Renzi Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohre Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Clancy Brown and Michael Zegen. The premiere is scheduled for May 23, 2024.
Harry Potter Reboot
Warner Bros. Discovery has officially confirmed the work on the serialization of the story of Harry Potter – according to the season for each book. Writer JK Rowling will be among the show’s executive producers.
Viewers are promised an exact adaptation of the books, which will stretch over 10 years. It seems that this is the first series in history that was immediately renewed for seven seasons even before the first release.
Anime “Rick and Morty”
Adult Swim and Warner Bros. has yet to announce who will take over the voice duties of the Rick and Morty duo after Justin Roiland said goodbye earlier this year. But, apparently, we will find out about it very soon.
“True Detective”, season 4
Two-time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster stars in the fourth season of HBO’s crime anthology series. The action unfolds in Alaska, where the polar night lasts for several months. In the center of the plot will be two detectives investigating the circumstances of the mysterious disappearance of six people from a research station in Ennis.
The release of the new season is expected this year.
The Sympathizer
Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Viet Thanh Nguyen, the series from Pak Chan Uk and starring Robert Downey Jr. will tell the story of a North Vietnamese spy who enters the refugee community of Los Angeles. The show will be released in 2024.
“Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”
A new Game of Thrones prequel called A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: Hedge Knight has been rumored for some time, but it was unclear from which part of George R.R.’s epic story. He will be loaned to Martin. HBO head Casey Bloys has now confirmed that the story will focus on the adventures of the knight Dunke and his squire Egge.
George RR Martin and Ira Parker will serve as writers and executive producers, but no firm release date has been set yet.

“The Mode” with Kate Winslet
In the mini-series “The Regime”, the Oscar-winning Kate Winslet plays the Madam Chancellor of the modern European regime. The series follows one year of her life in the palace as her regime begins to crumble. The premiere is scheduled for 2024.
Big Bang Theory spin-off
Chuck Lorre, co-creator of The Big Bang Theory and its spin-off Young Sheldon, is in the early stages of developing another comedy series tied to the original story. No plot or release date details yet, but the likely hour-long episodes will feature a new cast.
It will also be possible to see already famous stars of “The Big Bang Theory” in guest roles.
