Following the launch of the web3 platform .Swoosh last November, Nike presents its new set of digital collectibles. The Our Force 1 (or OF1) series of virtual works will be available to a select group of users by invitation on May 8th, and will open to the general public on May 10th.
You can buy one of the two boxes called “Classic Remix” or “New Wave” for $19.82 (a nod to the year of the Air Force 1’s debut) – but to get the product you need to have an account on the Swoosh website (not yet available in Ukraine ) and create your ID. Customers won’t be able to see their order right away and won’t know what design the shoes are made of – Nike promises to show the contents of the boxes at the same time after May 10. No exact date has been announced, but Swoosh members will be notified.
All boxes will come with a 3D file that can be used to, say, export to other platforms (if compatible).
The OF1 collection features more than 100,000 virtual pairs of shoes and is based on the Air Force 1. The “Classic Remix” boxes will feature “a favorite classic AF1 series released from 1982 to 2006” or “a more unique, custom AF1 nostalgia model”; and in the “New Wave” boxes, customers will find “a classic series from 2007 or later” or “a custom AF1 with a more futuristic twist.” There are also four designs from previous competition winners Your Force 1 that are combined in both types of boxes.
Old sole, new story.

Nike says these digital collectibles aren’t just for online use.
“In the near future, we will introduce other new utilities and benefits, such as exclusive physical products or experiences,” the company said.
Over 330,000 .Swoosh accounts have been created since launch, and on April 18th, 106,453 randomly selected members will receive digital posters via Airdrop (with early access to purchase the OF1 box). Nike said that some of its partners will be included in this list, as well as “#OurForce1 competitors and/or those who registered at the Swoosh Session tour stops.”
- The OF1 collection is not Nike’s first foray into the digital goods business. Last spring, the company unveiled CryptoKicks, an Ethereum-based NFT digital sneaker developed in collaboration with RTFKT (an NFT studio that Nike acquired in late 2021). CryptoKicks pairs, which were initially distributed to holders of other rare RTFKT NFTs, quickly began to appear on secondary markets, reaching prices of $14,000.
