On the back of the smartphone there are four cameras created in collaboration with Leica. They are housed under a single glass dome, which Xiaomi calls the Leica Vario-Summicron 1:1.8-3.0/12-120 ASPH lens.
The main camera is equipped with a 50MP inch IMX989 sensor and a 23mm lens with optical stabilization and a physical two-stop aperture that provides an opening of f/1.9 for minimum depth of field (for blur or side) and f/4.0 for sharper image. The sensor combines four physical pixels with a size of 1.6 μm into one virtual one. As a result, images with a resolution of 12.5 MP are obtained.
The other three cameras use the new 1/2.51-inch IMX858 50-megapixel sensor. These include a 75mm f/1.8 OIS lens with 3.2x mid-range optical zoom, a 5x 120mm camera with f/3.0 lens, and a 12mm ultra-wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture and macro photography. Using in-sensor zoom technology, the 13 Ultra offers additional 2x46mm and 10x240mm modes.
The 32 MP front camera with an aperture of f/2.0 has a fixed focus and combines four pixels into one, which allows you to get pictures with a resolution of 8 MP.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra is equipped with a 6.73” AMOLED screen with a resolution of 3200×1440 pixels, an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sensor frequency of up to 240 Hz. The display can develop brightness up to 2600 threads.
The smartphone is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with a new cooling system based on an evaporative chamber, which works together with LPDDR5X RAM. The 12/256 GB, 16/512 GB and 16 GB/1 TB versions will go on sale – UFS 4.0 storage is used.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra got a 5000mAh battery with fast wired charging up to 90W and wireless power up to 50W. As the company assures, a whole hour can work on 1% charge.
The back of the 13 Ultra is covered with antibacterial silicone nanoskin. The top of the back panel is slightly raised to highlight the camera module. The smartphone will be available in black, olive and white colors. A special separate kit has been created for the phone, making it look like a digital camera.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra will go on sale in China from April 21 (pre-sales start today). Prices in China are the equivalent of €795 for 12/256GB, €861 for 16/512GB and €970 for 16GB/1TB. The smartphone will appear in other world markets in a few months.
Xiaomi Mi Band 8
The Xiaomi Mi Band 8 bracelet mostly inherits the design of its predecessor. The strap and its connection to the case have changed. Previously, the Mi Band came with a unified strap that contained the capsule of the fitness tracker. It now uses a two-piece strap, similar to the Apple Watch and other smart watches.
A 1.62” AMOLED display with Always On awaits the user. More than 150 sports modes are available. The bracelet supports heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen measurement, stress tracking, sleep, steps and calories. An interesting detail is the presence of several changeable virtual dials with puzzle games.
Mi Band 8 with NFC will be available in China, such models are not traditionally supplied to the international market. There is still no built-in GPS, only connected GPS from the phone is available.
In China, the Xiaomi Mi Band 8 costs about $34. While nothing is known about the global launch, there is also no official information about the Mi Band 8 Pro.
