“This account has been permanently banned from PlayStation Network for violating the PlayStation Network Terms of Service and User Agreement,” Sony said in a statement to one affected user.

Many other users have received similar messages, which they are reporting on various social platforms.

Along with account suspension, users lose access to their libraries of PlayStation games that they may have spent large sums of money on.

Sony itself has not yet commented on this situation with the blocking of users. It is not yet clear how widespread this problem is. There are posts from dozens of affected users on social networks, but there may be many more.
