The new game modes should be the highlight of The Last of Us Part II Remastered compared to the original release on PlayStation 4, in addition to graphical improvements and the use of new features of the DualSense gamepad.

Studio Naughty Dog calls No Return a roguelike survival mode. Traditionally, Roguelike features the irreversibility of character death and the need to start the entire gameplay over.

Players will be able to choose from many main characters in the game, each with their own play style and also choose their weapons. No Return will allow players to go through many locations, randomly encountering enemies and monsters of the game. The overall goal is to last as long as possible. As you progress, you’ll also unlock new characters, weapons, and content for the mode.

In addition to No Return, The Last of Us Part II Remastered will include three game levels that were cut from the original game. The remaster will also include a new version of Guitar Free Play mode with unlockable instruments, support for audio FX pedals, and more.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered with a new mode will be available for owners of PS5 consoles from January 19, 2024.
