In a blog on the official website of Call of Duty, the developers announced a new tool designed to fight against cheaters. Anti-cheat system Ricochet (which uses machine learning), which already works in Warzone and appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, got a new feature called Splat, which can be translated as sloop.
How does Ricochet use machine learning?
Machine learning algorithms should help prevent, detect and remove fraudsters more effectively and faster. MH improvements include:
- Study of client and server data to identify new types of fraudulent behavior.
- Issue account calls to check for abnormal behavior.
- Collect and map problem accounts for action.
Machine learning will help predict behavior better and work more efficiently, and the team will check the accuracy of its work and issue punishments.
Replay Investigation Tool
The replay research tool captures gameplay data so it can be converted into video, allowing support teams to review player matches for problematic behaviour.
Splat
The developers have developed a new trick for cheaters that will be used in Call of Duty: Warzone and beyond: And they called it Splat. If they happen to spot a cheater, just for fun, they can turn off his parachute and he’ll crash to the ground. If the system detects it after opening, it can be accelerated for a fatal landing.
