SpaceX, which previously, by Elon Musk’s decision, abandoned broadcasts of launches on YouTube in favor of Twitter (now, God forbid, X), published a video of the second Starship test flight on its YouTube channel. This is a video from the category that can be watched very many times.
SpaceX’s video, just under 2 minutes long, adds to the already considerable collection of photos and videos of this certainly important launch. The video is a compilation of key moments of the Starship IFT-2 test mission from different angles; footage captured by aerial and ground-based cameras is available in ultra-high resolution – up to 4K. This is an additional reason to remember how it was, to admire the incredibly detailed footage of rocket porn in its purest form, which even surpasses the CGI videos released before, and to once again rejoice in the success of the SpaceX team, which is actively working to pave the way for all mankind to the moon. Mars and other planets/moons. Actually, here is the video:
On November 18, Starship made its second orbital flight – the tests of the largest and most powerful launch vehicle in history can be safely considered partially successful, despite the dramatic finale with two explosions (first rapid unscheduled disassembly happened with Super Heavy, and then the same fate befell Starship). Musk has previously said that the next Starship flight will take place in a month or two — and during that launch, SpaceX plans to test the next key technology, which is to demonstrate fuel transfer (between a small tank in the nose and the main fuel tank). So we look forward to the third Starship test launch, and a detailed analysis of the second test and the status of the development program for the most powerful reusable space launch system in history – in a separate article on the site.
