A secret compound on the island of Kauai called Koolau Ranch is already partially built and could become one of the most expensive personal construction projects in history.

According to Wired, the head of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, is building a huge residential complex in Hawaii, the cost of which is estimated at $ 100 million. The project includes about a dozen buildings with two mansions in the center, which are connected by a tunnel and lead to an underground bunker with an area of 500 square meters.

In total, Zuckerberg’s island property will have at least 30 bedrooms and 30 bathrooms, as well as guest quarters and a group of 11 “disc-shaped” treehouses connected by rope bridges. The bunker will also have living quarters, a technical room, and a concrete and steel blast-resistant door.

Other exits and entrances in the buildings of the complex will have doors with push-button locks and soundproofing, while the library will get a secret door, according to construction documents. According to one employee, cameras are installed “everywhere” (one smaller building in the complex has more than 20).

It seems that the CEO of Meta is seriously preparing for the apocalypse, because the complex is being made completely autonomous – a giant water tank will be placed on the territory along with a pump system, and fields will be equipped for farming and cattle breeding.

According to Wired, Zuckerberg built a two-meter wall around the complex and required employees to sign a non-disclosure agreement. The land for the complex, which the billionaire acquired through a series of deals in 2014, cost $170 million.
