The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine announced the launch of closed beta testing of the uResidency e-residency program.
As noted in the department, uResidency is an electronic residency program, thanks to which citizens of other countries will be able to register a sole proprietorship in Ukraine and conduct business from any corner of the world, paying taxes to the Ukrainian budget. The program is aimed at small business owners from Asia and Europe. The focus is on IT specialists and specialists who provide online services in the creative economy.
In uResidency, all services are automated and available online: from applying for status to opening a bank account and paying taxes. Future e-residents have advantages in the form of mobile banking, low taxation of 5% and the absence of accounting and reports.
To become an e-resident, foreign entrepreneurs do not need to go to Ukraine. To acquire the status, it is enough to go through a one-time offline verification at the Ukrainian consular institution in the country of residence.
“The program will be a powerful source of recovery of our economy thanks to the taxation of foreign entrepreneurs. And it will also popularize the brand of Ukraine as a digital state,” says the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.
uResidency has been in the works for 3 years and is now finally ready to launch beta testing. After the end of the beta test, the program will be available to citizens of the first four countries – India, Pakistan, Thailand and Slovenia. Gradually, this list will be replenished.
