How XG PON (10G PON) technology works

Westelecom offers to connect the Internet in Odesa using XG PON technology from 500 Mbit/s for UAH 719/month.

Optical terminals with support for XG PON technology and a Wi-Fi module
Westelecom has changed the perception of the usual ONU client terminals. Now the old router and switches are not needed. The new universal solution from Westelecom provides one device with high bandwidth, Wi-Fi 6 support, XG PON technology and many other modern features. A model range of optical terminals with Wi-Fi for ordinary or complex tasks is available to the provider’s customers.
How do they work? The optical terminal receives the signal in the form of a light stream and converts it into a digital signal, outputting it to the Wi-Fi moduleto connect, for example, a laptop, tablet or phone to the Internet and Ethernet portsto connect devices via a “twisted pair” cable: PCs, TVs, game consoles, and so on.
In 2024, Westelecom plans to develop XG PON in cities and other settlements of Odesa region, including in its remote corners.
