On the night of December 29, the Russian occupiers launched another attack on civilian and military facilities in Ukraine, inflicting a massive combined air strike.
During this attack, 158 air targets were detected in the sky of Ukraine: 36 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs, more than 100 cruise missiles and more than 10 ballistic missiles. The targets of the attack were critical infrastructure facilities, industrial and military facilities, and residential buildings. Unfortunately, there are dead and injured among Ukrainians.
Air Force Spokesman Yuriy Ignat said that the occupiers launched everything that night except the Calibers:
“The occupiers used Daggers, ballistics, S-300, cruise missiles, UAVs, Kh-22 or Kh-32. About 18 strategic bombers launched X-101/X-505… We have never seen so many targets simultaneously on our monitor.”
Initially, 36 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs were used for the attack, flying from the north and south-east to the west. Around 3:00 am, 18 Tu-95MS aircraft took off, which arrived at the launch line around 6:00 am and launched at least 90 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles. Around 05:00 Tu-22M3 bombers fired 8 Kh-22/Kh-32 cruise missiles in the direction of the northern and central regions.
At the same time, Russian terrorist forces struck with S-300/S-400/Iskander-M ballistic missiles, firing at least 14 such missiles. At 6:30 a.m., 5 MiG-31K fighters took off and launched 5 Kh-47M2 “Dagger” aeroballistic missiles. Also, 4 Kh-31P anti-radar missiles and one Kh-59 were used from Su-35 tactical aircraft.
According to preliminary estimates, this night the enemy used 158 means of air attack against Ukraine – missiles of various types and shock air defense systems. The forces and means of the Air Force in cooperation with the units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed 114 air targets:
- 27 attack UAVs “Shahed-136/131”
- 87 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles.
