The analyst predicted that Nintendo’s next console will be “an iterative development of the current Switch and will cost $400 at launch.” It may appear already this year.
Dr. Serkan Toto, CEO of consulting company Kantan Games, also predicted that console games will go up to $70, which is in line with the recent changes that have occurred in PS5 and Xbox games, reports Nintendo Life.
Serkan Toto’s full quote:
It’s finally time for a Switch successor, although I can say that the Pro model actually existed and some worked with the dev kit. I believe the next hardware will arrive next year (2024) at a price of $400. There is a good chance that the games will cost more: $70.
The next system is also likely to be an iteration rather than a revolution. Nintendo might add some bells and whistles to the device, but it will look similar to the current Switch. And since there’s Pokemon, and Pokemon is associated with portable gaming, there’s no way in the world Nintendo is going to give up the portability feature for the next big product.
Switch 2 is getting closer – a prototype of Nintendo’s new console debuted behind closed doors at Gamescom
At least the release dates sound optimistic, but it should be remembered that this is only a forecast. However, it doesn’t make sense for Nintendo to drastically change the concept of one of its most popular products in history, which can still become the best-selling game console in the world.
