According to Opendatabot, 304,048 new FOP registrations were registered in Ukraine last year, which is 7% more than in 2021.
The most popular areas are retail and wholesale trade, IT, personal service and food and beverage activities.
Hairdressers and beauty salons led the way among FPOs providing individual services, with 18,059 new businesses.
Kyiv (14.8%), Dnipropetrovsk (8.97%) and Lviv (7.73%) oblasts led the regions in terms of the number of registrations (the place of business registration may differ from the actual place of business).
In comparison with FOP, new companies were opened less often and did not reach the indicators recorded at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
In total, 37,297 new companies were opened in 2023 — a third less than in 2021, when 56,267 new businesses were registered.
The most popular areas of new companies were wholesale trade, activities of public organizations and provision of social assistance.
As in the case of the opening of the FOP, the largest number of new companies were registered in the capital, as well as in Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv regions (these three regions account for almost half of new business registrations).
