ASUS announced new gaming laptops under its Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand at CES 2024.
ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16
The new ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 laptops are light and compact systems made in aluminum cases. The G14 is 1.59cm thick and weighs 1.5kg, while the 1.49cm G16 weighs 1.85kg. On the body of these notebooks there is a branded Slash Lighting LED panel, which expands the possibilities of personalization. The updated G14 and G16 are the first notebooks with ROG Nebula Display OLED panels. The Zephyrus G14 model boasts a 3K (120Hz refresh rate) panel, while the Zephyrus G16 has a 2.5K (240Hz refresh rate), 16:10 aspect ratio, VESA DisplayHDR Tru0 Black 50 certification. Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos technologies improve sound quality.
The Zephyrus G14 laptop is equipped with an AMD processor up to Ryzen 98940H. At the same time, the Zephyrus G16 uses an Intel processor up to Core Ultra 9 185H. Both models have NVIDIA GeForce RTX video cards.
ROG Strix SCAR 16 and SCAR 18
ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 16 and SCAR 18 laptops are equipped with Intel Core i9 14900HX processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards for laptops. The cooling system involves the use of Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on the central and graphics processors and three fans. ROG Nebula HDR displays, made with Mini LED technology, have a resolution of 2.5K (2560×1600) and a refresh rate of 240 Hz, and the ratio of the screen area to the panel area reaches 90%.
SCAR 18 is the first notebook in the ROG series to use an 18-inch Mini LED display. The sound is provided by the Dolby Atmos audio system with four speakers. These laptops are equipped with a gaming keyboard, Thunderbolt 4 interface, 2.5 Gbps network port, Wi-Fi 6E module and a 90 Wh battery with the possibility of charging via USB-C with a power of up to 100 W.
ROG Strix G16 and G18
The ASUS ROG Strix G16 and G18 laptops offer a processor up to Intel Core i9 14900HX and a graphics card up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 for laptops. The cooling system uses Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on the CPU, three fans and vents around the entire perimeter. The novelties have 16- and 18-inch ROG Nebula displays with a resolution of 2.5K (2560×1600 pixels), a refresh rate of 240 Hz and support for Dolby Vision HDR technology.
The devices received a wide touchpad, large arrow keys, a Thunderbolt 4 port, a keyboard with individual RGB key illumination, a gigabit network port, a Wi-Fi 6E module and a battery with a capacity of 90 W • h with the possibility of charging via a USB-C port (100 . Version Volt Green features a metal body with an RGB-backlit ROG logo and the new ROG Slash design, while Eclipse Gray features a metal body with a low-profile ROG Slash design.
Prices and dates for the start of sales of the new ASUS ROG laptops have not yet been announced.
