Blogger Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, received 150 million views in a week on his new video $1 Car vs $100,000,000 Car!, published on X, and earned $263 thousand.
In the video, the blogger explores various cars and even hitchhikes with the famous TV host and stand-up comedian Jay Leno.

I’m curious how much ad revenue a video on X would make so I’m reuploading this to test it. Will share ad rev next week ❤️ pic.twitter.com/amSSmddFht

At the same time, Donaldson points out, his revenue per video was higher than what X usually offers.
“Advertisers noticed the attention the video attracted and bought ads in it. So my income per views is probably higher than what you could have,” MrBeast wrote.
Meanwhile, some users believe that the popularity of the video could also be due to the fact that X promoted it, although he did not mark it as an advertisement.
“The video appeared in my feed maybe 7 times. There is no posting time of the username (and this happens on regular messages), as well as an announcement mark in the upper right corner. Is there a third secret type of posts for YouTubers that Elon invites to post here?” one X user wrote.
Musk, meanwhile, welcomed Donaldson to the platform with a quote:
“MrBeast’s first video posted directly on X!”.
And the general director of the social network, Linda Yaccarino, tweeted the blogger’s publication to her page.
Donaldson is currently the most popular person on YouTube with over 370 million subscribers across all channels. Last year, X launched a revenue-sharing program for creators, offering them a share of ad revenue generated by their posts, and Musk already invited bloggers to try out for X in December.
“The cost of producing my videos is in the millions, and even with a billion views on X, that won’t even cover a fraction. But I’m willing to explore opportunities when monetization is successful!” MrBeast replied.
According to Forbes, Donaldson earned $54 million last year and was the highest-paid creator in 2023. He’s also close to a $100 million show deal with Amazon, according to Puck.
