According to Valery Romanenko, the plane was released back in Soviet times in Tashkent.
Currently, two registration numbers of the aircraft that could have crashed near the Russian city of Belgorod are being discussed, both of which relate to the standard modification of the Il-76MD. Aviation expert Valery Romanenko reported this on Channel 24.
According to him, the downed aircraft is an ordinary Il-76 without any specialization, in a single-deck version it can transport up to 145 infantrymen, and in a double-deck version – about 225 people, or any cargo, because this is a so-called ramp military transport aircraft, which is capable of transporting heavy concentrated loads, such as infantry fighting vehicles and self-propelled guns.
“The aircraft was produced in Soviet times in Tashkent. There were no special conversions of these aircraft. Why do I say “aircraft”? First there was one registration number of the downed aircraft, then another,” the aviation expert emphasized.
