Russian-Iranian “Shakheds” lie in the fields instead of causing damage to residential buildings and infrastructure facilities. The National Police showed photos of the UAV with no obvious signs of physical damage in an open area. Probably, they “didn’t reach” the targets on their own, but it is possible that this is the result of the use of special weapons of the Armed Forces.

Means of radio-electronic warfare are able to influence the navigation and control systems of missiles and drones, in particular, to “land” and change their course. This can make air munitions a more convenient target for air defense or completely neutralize them. At the same time, the drones cause much less damage than if they were hit and fell. Corresponding funds are provided to Ukraine by allies together with air defense equipment or separately. But there are also our own developments.

People’s deputy Oleksandr Fedienko, commenting on the photo on his Telegram channel, hinted at the development and capabilities of Ukrainian EW:

“Yes, Ukraine has a modern development (and more than one), which can use radio-electronic influence to interfere with navigation systems that control such means as in the photo.”

The deputy claims that the Ukrainian defense forces know how to not only plant, but also deflect UAVs and missiles:

“A matter of time, when the Russians attack us with rockets and rockets, they will fly in the opposite direction. Of course, you have to work on it, but believe me.”

Fedienko talks about hundreds and thousands of such devices that are currently being installed throughout the country. Referring to open sources, the deputy says that the development of these projects was carried out with budget funds. But he states that, unfortunately, it is not possible to fight ballistic missiles in this way.

In an interview with “Military” Ivan Pavlenko, the head of the Main Department of Radio-Electronic and Cyber ​​Warfare of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noted that, despite the significant capabilities, EW funds cannot replace air defense systems, they are part of them and are intended for close cooperation.

According to him, the REB funds are part of the air defense forces. As a result of EW, missiles change altitude and trajectory and become more convenient for air defense. He called the opinion that EW can replace air defense – they work together incorrect.
