Of the $126.6 million worldwide box office total, $71.1 million came from North America, where the film received an additional boost thanks to TikTok.
“Anyone But You” has grossed five times its budget of a modest $25 million worldwide. According to Deadline, Sony’s film also became the highest-grossing R-rated romantic comedy since 2016’s “Bridget Jones 3.”
The film, which is based on William Shakespeare’s comedy Much Ado About Nothing, tells the story of two sworn enemies who pretend to be a couple in love at a friend’s wedding. Anyone But You was directed by Will Gluck (Sex Buddies, Easygoing) and stars Sidney Sweeney and Glen Powell. The film was released in Ukrainian cinemas on January 25, and will debut on Netflix in a few months.

“The Beekeeper,” starring Jason Statham, took the top spot in U.S. theaters in its third weekend with $7.4 million — and $104 million worldwide. In the Paramount musical “Bad Girls” – $ 83.4 million worldwide earnings. Older releases are gaining popularity, while American cinemas remain without premieres for the second weekend in a row. The situation will be corrected by “Argyle”, “Madame Web” and the biopic about Bob Marley, which will debut in the first half of February. At the same time, the biggest “liveliness” for the big screen is predicted for March, when Denis Villeneuve’s film “Dune: Part Two” starts (in Ukrainian cinemas – February 29).
“Wonka” with Timothée Chalamet currently has $552 million in earnings worldwide and is in third place at the domestic box office, the Universal animation “Migration” is in fourth place, and the rom-com “Anyone But You” is in fifth place.
