WhiteBIT became a partner of the “Hear Your Own” fundraiser for the Defense Forces of Ukraine – thanks to the decision of the crypto exchange, an additional opportunity to donate in cryptocurrency appeared, which allows to attract a wider circle of donors (both in Ukraine and abroad) to cover the urgent need as soon as possible military means of communication.
This is a separate joint collection of the Serhiy Prytula Foundation and the mobile operator lifecell to provide 100 units of the Defense Forces with 100 radio communication sets. The goal is UAH 14.2 million. Each kit includes a Motorola DM4400 car radio, a Motorola DP4800 portable digital radio and five Motorola DP4400 portable digital radios.
You can donate in cryptocurrency directly on the special collection page – you just need to choose a convenient network and specify the amount. It is thanks to a simple widget that you can conveniently monitor the progress of the project.
Do we need to remind about the role of secure communications in war? These means of communication are necessary for the coordinated and harmonious work of various military units – the transmission of operational information related to the execution of combat tasks and the calling of medical evacuation. The speed of response to changes in circumstances and the effectiveness of tasks depends on their availability.
Since the beginning of the war, crypto-assets have become a powerful tool for attracting additional funding to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, despite Ukraine’s lack of a full-fledged legislative framework for regulating operations with crypto-assets. From the first days of the great war, the Ministry of Digital Transformation began to accept donations in cryptocurrency, and in cooperation with the Everstake blockchain company and the FTX crypto exchange, established a special charity fund, Aid to Ukraine. Since then, Ukraine has received tens of millions of dollars in official wallets.
Whitepay separately notes that during 2023, more than 500,000 USDT transactions were made for charity through the exchange service (USDT cryptocurrency is pegged to the US dollar exchange rate +/- 1:1, i.e. 1 USDT = 1$). Recently, the Serhiy Prytula Foundation reported on almost 2.2 billion hryvnias donated to the foundation by caring donors during 2023.
