On February 7-8, an international forum on cyber security will be held in Kyiv – the theme of the large-scale two-day event will be “Resilience during cyber warfare”. It will be attended by a number of respected foreign experts in the field of cyber security, top Ukrainian companies and Ukrainian officials, including Secretary of the National Security Council Oleksiy Danilov, Head of the Ministry of Statistics Mykhailo Fedorov and Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.
In a few words about the event and the goal
This forum is a joint initiative of the National Cyber Security Coordination Center (NCCC) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the US Civilian Research and Development Fund (CRDF Global). The current event will take place with the support of the US State Department. The official wording of the goal is “rethinking the Ukrainian experience of cyber warfare and its use in the development of strategies of the countries of the democratic world to increase cyber resilience through the use of modern technologies, tools of diplomacy, international law and active cyber defense.” To paraphrase in a more understandable language – search, development and creation of new protection systems taking into account the already acquired experience, new cyber threats and challenges from the aggressor Russia and other cyber terrorists.
Key topics and speakers
The central place is given to methods of strengthening cyber resilience: from the use of innovations in military technologies and the protection of critical infrastructure to the development of public-private partnerships and countering disinformation using OSINT technologies. The entire list of topics that will be covered by the two-day program of the event looks like this:
●The role of cyber security in modern wars and cyber resilience: Ukraine’s experience and lessons for the world;
●Cyber war and international law: modern approaches, gaps and perspectives;

As part of the event, there will also be Cyber Security Competitions (СТF) for public and private sector professionals, which are aimed at improving qualifications and acquiring new skills. In addition, workshops and trainings are provided for all participants.
In the future, the event is planned to be held annually, forming the basis for the development of a powerful platform — platforms for sharing best practices, defining joint strategies and coordinating actions in the fight against cyber threats, strengthening international cooperation and joining efforts to increase global resilience in cyberspace. Time will tell whether he will eventually become the Ukrainian Black Hat and whether there will be any benefit from him.
