Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced on the air of the telethon the online marriage service through the “Diya” application.
According to Fedorov, the service will start working “soon” and will use video communication – but other details have not yet been provided.
“You can just get married in Diya on video. It will be quite technological. I will not make spoilers, but there will be many interesting elements of this process,” explained the head of the Ministry of Digital, noting that the service, in particular, will be useful for the military.
According to the Ministry of Justice, in 9 months of 2023, 122,650 marriages were concluded in Ukraine – the most in Kyiv (13,933), Dnipropetrovsk (12,389) and Odesa (9,158) regions. Divorces were registered 8 times less during the same time – 15,061 (with the same three leaders in the regions).
Fedorov also reminded once again that they do not plan to hold elections or distribute summonses through Diya.
The Ukrainian electronic service of public services was launched in 2019, and a year later a separate mobile application “Diya” was officially launched, which today, by the way, celebrates its 4th anniversary and has already crossed the mark of 20 million unique users (a significant part came precisely during the full-scale invasion ) — if in February 2022 there were 14 million, then in May 2023 — 19 million).
In December of last year, the program received a new design, and soon the Ministry of Digitization promises to open its source code. Other plans for 2024 include the launch of Diya.Office, a separate service for civil servants, as well as the educational application Mriya using artificial intelligence technologies.
