The financial company “Nova poshta” – NovaPay – opened the opportunity for ordinary Ukrainians to buy their own bonds. Securities can already be purchased in the NovaPay application on iOS and Android.
NovaPay started teasing this opportunity long before the launch of the program — back in June 2023, during the first placement of public bonds for 100 ₴ million. And now the actual launch of the new investment instrument took place. The bond issuer is “NovaPay Credit” LLC, which is a part of NovaPay. The bonds themselves are an alternative to the usual deposits and military bonds, which became the main investment instruments of Ukrainians in wartime conditions, and a new opportunity to diversify the investment portfolio.
Key terms and features of NovaPay bonds
- Entry threshold (minimum investment amount) – UAH 1,000.
- Profitability – up to 18% per annum (depending on the term).
- The repayment term is from 1 to 12 months.
How to buy bonds in NovaPay
- download NovaPay (iOS or Android) and register (registration takes place through the “Action” application);
- on the main screen, select the “Accumulation” section and click “Buy bonds”;
- choose conditions: term and amount of investment;
- confirm the application, sign the documents using “Action.Signature” and pay the bonds. After completing the purchase process, a corresponding push notification will be sent to the smartphone.
It is also possible to buy NovaPay bonds with the help of the company’s specialists (sales specialists).
The calculated size of the predicted payment will be displayed immediately in the application. Income will be paid out after the expiry of the term on the card by analogy with the payment of interest on deposits. Note that interest on NovaPay bonds is taxable (18% personal income tax and 1.5% military levy) unlike OVDP which are not taxed at all.
In 2023, NovaPay placed three issues of bonds (series A, B and C) for 100 million UAH each, and also registered three more issues – series D, E and F bonds (also for 100 million UAH each). It became the first private company in Ukraine to issue corporate bonds with a public offering during the war. Currently, bonds of series A, B and C are in circulation, they were bought in the amount of UAH 141 million, and the number of customers is approaching 100 people.
The launch of the NovaPay mobile application took place at the end of 2023 on Android, and a month ago the company expanded its availability to iOS.
As for NovaPay, it is a financial “daughter” of the large NOVA family, which, together with others, includes Nova Poshta. According to the NBU, the company occupies 35% of the Ukrainian money transfer market. Also, NovaPay already handles 2.6 million transactions per day and is actively developing its own network of POS terminals, aiming for 10,000 own terminals by 2025.
