The full version of Death From Above is out on Steam. This is an arcade simulator of a combat drone during the Russian-Ukrainian war

Death From Above, an arcade combat drone simulator developed by Rockodile and published by Lesser Evil, is now available on Steam. The plot of Death From Above unfolds during the Russian-Ukrainian war. You have to play as the operator of a drone of the Armed Forces, operating deep in the rear of the enemy. You monitor the battlefield and destroy the invaders and their equipment, fighting for the freedom of our country.

The game was funded through a Kickstarter campaign and released in early access in May 2023. Since then, Death From Above has received a 96% positive review on Steam. The full version of the game includes a number of improvements, including new missions and a full campaign, as well as hidden traps and loads of satire.

Lesser Evil strives to create games that solve real-world problems. Released on the eve of the second anniversary of the Russian army’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Death From Above also fulfills this mission. At least 30% of the profit from the Lesser Evil game will be donated to Ukrainian charities.

Direct speech from Hendrik Lesser, CEO of Lesser Evil:

For two years, Russians have been committing crimes every day, and the world must be reminded: we cannot let Putin and his henchmen win. The parliaments of the countries of the world began to hesitate regarding financial and material assistance to Ukrainians — so it is all the more important now to support Ukraine in any possible way, including in virtual space.

We will not stand by and simply watch as the freedom won is destroyed by totalitarianism. Ukraine must be free.

While the game was in early access, Lesser Evil and Rockodile have already donated over 10,000 euros to Ukrainian charities “Return Alive” and “Army of Drones”. As soon as they cover the costs of development and release of the game, the share of donations will increase to 70%.

Death From Above was created in cooperation with the Ukrainian community. Ukrainian developers Octobear Knight Games joined the work on the game. To make the game as authentic as possible, Lesser Evil and Rockodile collaborated with Ukrainian manufacturers of military software, such as Aerorozovdka and GIS Arta. Ukrainian artists Surface Tension, Odarka Zyrko and Go_A joined in the creation of the soundtrack, and the Ukrainian rock band “Antibodies” recorded the song “My Falcon” especially for the game. Very inquisitive players may even come across the band performing in-game.

Also, Death From Above is the first ever game on Steam to be localized in the Crimean Tatar language. Representatives of Kirimla joined the work on the translation.

In addition to Steam, Death From Above is available on GoG and the Epic Games Store.
