Attention to the Sony film with Dakota Johnson in the role of a clairvoyant and three spider girls at once dropped dramatically in its second weekend.
After two weeks in theaters, Madame Web has added $6 million domestically and $10.5 million internationally for a total of $35.45 million domestically and $77.4 million worldwide. That’s a 61% drop from its US debut weekend.
Interestingly, after 11 days at the box office, Sony’s new film has yet to reach the level of Morbius, the 2022 film that once held the status of Marvel’s lowest-grossing superhero film. “Morbius” earned $83.9 million in its opening weekend before flopping and bringing its box office total to a modest $167.5 million.
In addition to Johnson, Sidney Sweeney, Isabella Merced, Emma Roberts and Adam Scott stood out in “Madame Web”. According to the plot, paramedic Cassandra Webb receives the gift of clairvoyance after a traumatic incident and tries to protect three teenage superheroes from a mysterious enemy.
Meanwhile, the rating on Rotten Tomatoes for “Madame Cobweb” doubled the audience sentiment, with 12% from critics and 56% from audiences. Collider called the film “extremely tiresome” in its review, criticizing the “grey visuals and simple dialogue” – ours can be found by clicking the link below:
