The Insider Gaming site confirms from its sources that the specifications of the PlayStation 5 Pro, which were previously leaked to the Internet via the YouTube channel Moore’s Law is Dead, are a real leak, despite the criticism of the channel, and the release of the PlayStation 5 Pro is targeted for the Christmas holidays of 2024.
Insider Gaming’s anonymous sources can confirm that the leak is coming from the PlayStation Developer Portal. Documentation was sent out to a large number of third-party developers this week.
It was previously known that the PS5 Pro is codenamed Trinity and will aim for better and more stable FPS at 4K resolution, have a new “performance mode” for 8K resolution and accelerated ray tracing. In addition, it was reported that the Trinity video processor will receive 30 graphics units and a memory bandwidth of 18,000 MTS.
So, the new round is confirmed:
- 45% faster rendering compared to PS5 compared to PS5
- 2-3 times faster ray tracing (x4 in some cases)
- Productivity 33.5 Teraflops.
- PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling) scaling technology
- Up to 8K resolution support in a future version of the SDK in up to 8K resolution
- Own machine learning architecture
- An artificial intelligence accelerator supporting 300 Tops of 8-bit calculations and 67 Tflops of 16-bit floating-point calculations.
Insider Gaming, which was given access to documentation from the developer portal on the condition that it not be made public, can confirm that the developer kits are available to inner circle studios from September 2023, third parties from January 2024 or spring 2024. Later, they will receive test kits that are identical to the final product.
