“Kyivstar” simplified eSIM connection – order an electronic SIM card with contract connection now it is possible online (identification through the NBU BankID service or the Diya application).

No trips to the store with a passport

Previously, for eSIM, contract subscribers had to personally visit a store with a passport or sign documents through a courier, so “Kyivstar” was the first to introduce such an option specifically for the contract form of service.

It is worth noting that the possibility of switching to eSIM online is also available at competitors – Vodafone Ukraine and lifecell. Both operators offer eSIM connection not only in their applications, but also in monobank. But only for subscription customers, and contract customers or corporate it is necessary to visit the store/contact center with the original passport or with a digital one at “Diya”. That is why the largest telecommunications operator of Ukraine with 23.9 million subscribers has surpassed its competitors here.

eSIM with Kyivstar contract — how to order the service online

Subscribers located abroad can also use the new eSIM remote connection service. The procedure itself is as simple as possible: you need to select the desired tariff from the list (gallery below) on the website of the Kyivstar store. Then, using BankID or Diya, download the necessary documents, fill out the form and sign the contract online using a graphic signature. Next, scan the received QR code to activate the eSIM and complete the settings on the smartphone. And, of course, the smartphone must support this same eSIM.

For new subscribers, eSIM offers with a contract start from UAH 150/month and reach UAH 500/month depending on the tariff and its content. Until the end of March, there will be a temporary promotion – connect or switch to a contract number for UAH 1, and the next 3 months will be paid at the promotional price (the discount is 20% of the regular price).

By the way, the possibility of switching to eSIM while preserving the old contract tariff and its conditions for existing subscribers is also provided. Among the main advantages of eSIM is a higher level of protection (the virtual card cannot be stolen or lost), including against a fraudulent scheme with card reissuance and additional functionality: for example, remote activation and support for several profiles – up to 10 numbers (depending on the manufacturer’s settings). Also, the eSIM has no expiration date, so it does not need to be renewed.

As for the contract, perhaps the only tangible advantage of this form over prepaid is the “fair” monthly pricing. The fee for the tariff will be deducted daily in equal parts during the calendar month instead of 28 days. Other advantages include the ability to connect up to 5 numbers to one account, payment deferral, and generally more interesting charging of tariffs, but it all depends on the individual needs of everyone.
